今晚8：30有一部私家車與輕鉄相撞，當時私家車從湖翠路左轉入美樂里，懷疑有人誤讀直行交通燈為左轉燈，導致意外發生，慶幸沒有人受到嚴重傷害。事後我在思考可有改善方法，可能在十字路口安裝一度閘是其中方案。
Collision at Mei Lok Lane
At around 8:30 this evening, a private car collided with a Light Rail Train while it was turning left from Wu Cui Road into Mei Lok Lane. Luckily the lady driver was not seriously hurt. But the vehicle itself was badly damaged. According to the neighbor, this is the second accident happened at the same spot in twelve months. The cause of the accident was due to driver’s mistake in reading the traffic light. Upon my quick review of the situation, I think any similar accident could be avoided in future if a gate be installed at the crossing. I will certainly raise this issue for discussion at the District Council meeting.
