Strawberries

I got to know more about the growing of strawberries after visiting a local green house last week. They have two imported species from Japan called Royal Mistress and My Lady. They prosper at the temperature range of 22 to 28 degree Celsius and with the aid of Italian honey bees for pollination. They are not cheap at all. For each pound of the hand picked fruit, they charge HK$60 which is roughly of 12 pieces.

在牛潭尾有一所溫室農場，他們種植兩個來自日本的品種，叫章姬和紅顏，適宜在22至28度的室溫生長，我有幸獲要參觀，為了催谷良好收成，種植圈也請來了意大利蜜蜂幫手傳送花粉，當然價錢不便宜，每磅承惠港幣60大元，折算起來為每件五元！
