11月29日週五，新界僭建關注組在鄉議局辦公室會見了發展局屬下處理僭建物問題的特別委員會。關注小組再次明確向鄉議局表示了我們的立場和觀點，內容就如關注小組於11月20日發表的公開聲明一樣，我們敦促鄉議局在沒有獲得新界居民總體授權下，不要倒戈，不要妥協。鄉議局應該用真誠的態度去面對這個嚴重問題，即使是改變不合時宜的法例。另外，我們認為政府現時推行的自我申報制度其實是非法以及越權的，鄉議局在這當中的角色應該是中立的，務求能夠為村民解決問題方為正道，為了促成這件事情能夠早日解決，鄉議局應該適當地讓合宜的法律行使於村民的根本利益之上。
Meeting Heung Yee Kuk on 29-11-12
On Friday 29th November 2012, NTconcern Group (“the Concern Group”) went to Heung Yee Kuk (“Kuk”) to meet up with the special committee which is in charge of the negotiation with the Development Bureau over the illegal structures. The Concern Group presented its stance and position to the Kuk again which is indeed well set out in its open letter presented on 20th November 2012. In the letter it clearly urges the Kuk not to backdown and not to compromise without the general mandate from the people of the New Territories. The Kuk should pursue a genuine way out of the current acute problem, viz, to change the archaic law. On the other hand, the presently proposed Reporting Scheme is illegal and ultra vires. The present leadership of the Kuk is neither a dove nor a hawk. It says it intends to buy time and hopefully to get round to the problem for the owners but on the other hand, in doing so, it undermines and even compromises the legal position of all those property owners in the New Territories who are relying on the advice of the Kuk to register on the Reporting Scheme!
