在石蔭邨的公共屋村內有11個居民社區。保守估計大概有6000多個單位，約20多萬人居住在這個人口稠密的區域。由於自十年前禮石樓旁邊的舊樓倒塌之後，在都無新樓建成，因此有當地的居民覺得應該有一個設施比較好的居民活動中心，他們覺得在石蔭邨最缺就是一個社區會堂。
Shek Yam Estate
There are altogether 11 resident blocks within the Shek Yam Public Housing Estate. Conservatively, there are about 6000 units comprising of 20 odd thousand people living in this densely populated community. Accordingly to the views of the local residents there, they need a decent spot or location for gathering together. Since the pulling down of the old one near Lai Shek House 10 years ago, never any new one had been built. They say there is a lack of a community hall within Shek Yam.

The dim sum served at Hoi Bo restaurant in Shek Yam left us very content. Voluntary helper Fei Ma and I were jolly pleased with the good food and the great company of each other!
