國際足球友誼賽於2月29日星期三在旺角大球場上演，由香港代表隊迎戰中華臺北隊，比賽於晚上8時正鳴笛。而我因為要在香港大學專業進修學院法律協會的就職典禮進行一個簡短演講，令我錯過了比賽的上半場。當我來到現場的時候香港隊已經以3：1領先，我到後不久就變成4：1。第82分鐘，比分就改寫為5：1。所以呢，有水準的球員就會踢出有水準的比賽！
Being late is better than never
The football match between Hong Kong and China Taipei took place at Mongkok stadium at 8:00pm on Wednesday 29th February. I had to attend the University of Hong Kong Law Association’s inauguration ceremony to give a short speech, hence, I missed the first half of the match. By the time I got there, it was already 3:1 and Hong Kong was leading. Shortly after my arrival, it became 4:1. After 82 minutes, it changed to 5:1. See! Football games are great fun when both teams’ skills are evenly matched, poor versus poor….

After scoring 5:1 and having beaten China Taipei, the new chief coach of the Hong Kong Team, Ernie Merrick was attending a TV interview on the football pitch. Not bad at all!
