這是我第三年參加在粉嶺人民解放軍陸軍基地舉行的香港青少年軍事夏令營閉幕儀式，這些軍事夏令營活動是由香港群力資源中心、中國人民解放軍駐香港部隊和香港特區政府聯合舉辦的。
當日有315名學生畢業。利害！他們此時看起來，與他們最初進入夏令營之前的面孔般若兩人。這真是令人難以想像，只是短短兩個星期，就將這些年輕人塑造得與眾不同！整齊一致的步操和雄亮的歌聲，都叫人讚嘆不已。
我個人認為這是一個非常有意義的活動，應該擴展到更多的社區當中。
Summer military camp 2011
This was my third year to attend the closing ceremony of the Military
Summer Camp for Hong Kong Youth at the Fanling People’s Liberation Army’s
base camp which was jointly organised by the Concerted Efforts Resource
Centre, Chinese People’s Liberation Army Forces Hong Kong and the
Education Bureau of HKSARG.
There were 315 students who graduated that day. Awesome! They all looked
remarkably different from the young faces I saw before they entered the
camp. It is hard to imagine that it took only two weeks to shape up these
young people so well. They marched and sang well in cohort with perfect
coordination. I personally felt that this was a worthwhile cause to
continue and we should even consider extending it to the wider sector of
the community!
Mrs. Mang and I attended the occasion. Unlike the past, we skipped the sing and dance.
