Mediation

On Thursday morning of 14th March 2013 I received a complaint that two hill-side operators who had been running their respective hobby-type businesses at Tuen Mun for years were in conflict. They alleged against each other that the other was not observing the implied rule for keeping the area clean. Ignoring the flaw in their respective legal position, they lodged formal complaints to the land office and Food and Environmental Hygiene Department and urged them to take action against each other. In view of the dispute being in the vicinity of my ancestral grave, I went up to interview them on the hill slope and heard their case. Upon my mediation for them, it was amicably resolved and both parties came to an agreement to keep the area clean together. Bees-man Chan was still a bit unsettled whereas Barber Chow(?) was pretty submissive. Well! Let’s see how it goes! At least I did what I could to bring them together in peace for the time being!
