法律界的獨立性

在11月2日，我參加了一個在Sheikh Rashid B廳舉行的研討會。席間，參加者都熱烈討論有關法律界和司法機構的獨立性。從那些參與討論的人中得出的答案都很清晰和明顯，大家都贊同司法獨立的重要性，並不應輕易為此而妥協。然而事實上它可能無法在一些國家實現。同時也表達了一個觀點，他們可能是矛也可能是盾。凡事都不應該從表面看，我們應該提高警覺去瞭解事物的本質。

On 2nd November, I attended a session at Sheikh Rashid Hall B to discuss about the Independence of the Legal Profession and the Legal Judiciary. The answers were clear and obvious from those who attended the discussion that everyone agreed that independence was important and should not be compromised.  Although in reality this may not be the case in some countries.  There was also an expressed view that they could be a shield as well as a sword.  The apparent form of an act should not be taken at face value and one should be vigilant in understanding the substance within.
