作為屯門鄉事委員會的代表，我參加了上水、粉嶺、沙頭角、打鼓嶺四個地區的鄉事委員會的就職儀式。本次活動在新建成的鄉議局舉行，地方相當不錯，雖然不是很大，但是仍算寬敞，足夠容納130圍酒席。此外，這裏提供了一流的設施，如影音設備、燈光效果、空調，最重要的是有一個表演的舞臺。雖然儀式延遲了些許，大家開始覺得不耐煩，幸好頭菜是燒豬，這可以安撫一下村民們的心情，之後才上盤菜。當儀式接近尾聲的時候，酒菜才被吃了一半。儀式一結束，大部分賓客都離場了，並沒有留下來享用盤菜。真可惜！
Inaugural ceremony of the rural committees of Sheung Shui; Fanling; Sha Tau Kok and Da Ku Ling districts on 25-6-11
On behalf of the Tuen Mun Rural Committee, I attended the happy event of the joint inaugural ceremony of four rural districts, Sheung Shui; Fanling; Sha Tau Kok and Da Ku Ling. The event was held at the newly built Heung Yee Kok. The venue was a good choice. Although it was not very big, it was spacious enough to host 130 tables of Poon Choi. Besides, it provided excellent facilities, like audio system, lighting effect, air conditioning and more importantly a stage for performing. The ceremonial part was prolonged a bit and boredom began to set in. Luckily the entrée of roast pork was served to pacify the guests, shortly followed by Poon Choi. By the time the ceremony was nearly over, half of the food was almost finished. Most of the honourable guests left immediately after the ceremony was over and they did not stay behind to enjoy the Poon Choi. What a waste!
