當我在廣州東海海鮮酒家吃完晚飯時，剛好是晚上9點40分左右，考慮到時間尚早，我決定乘坐和諧號去深圳，然後搭地鐵回家。晚上零點32分的時候，我剛好經過新堅尼地城的游泳池的施工現場。我發現了兩個令人驚奇的事情：第一，新游泳池的建築工程只在12或14個月前開始，悄悄地進行而至現在已快將完成。第二，我能在三個小時之內乘坐公共交通工具從廣州回到香港的家見到我的妻子，這在三年前幾乎是不可能實現的事情。
Kennedy Town Swimming Pool
By the time I finished my dinner at East Ocean Restaurant at Guangzhou, it was just around 9:40 pm. Thinking that it was still early, I decided to take the China Railway High-speed (CRH) to Shenzhen and changed for the MTR to get home. At 0:32am, I had already reached the construction site of the new Kennedy Town swimming pool. I found two amazing things. First, that the construction had gone on so quietly and smoothly that the swimming pool was almost completed after only commencing just 12 or 14 months ago. Second, I could be home within 3 hours to see my honey which was almost an impossible thing to achieve via public transport 3 years ago.
